AS EVIDENCED on Twitter and in the comments below, this delay is something that frustrates some people.

LET ME REASSURE YOU that releasing an electronic edition of my assmunchery is important to me. However, because of the design elements of the book, in particular the tables and calendar, it is difficult to create a traditional e-book with resizable and reflowable text that is pleasing to read and not simply, mind-bendingly confusing. 

DUTTON AND I have been looking at ways to do this since the publication of my last book, and the best compromises available so far are versions that would look basically OK on a large format reader, but would not be very readable on a small device like a phone. 

I HOPE AND TRUST that, as technology improves, these design issues can be solved, and now that the END IS NIGH TOUR is over, it’s something I will be turning my attention to. 

BUT I WOULD RATHER put out something GOOD than just put out SOMETHING, and so for now, the best and only reading experience I can offer you is the beautiful old-timey print edition, as thoughtfully designed inside and out by Sam Potts, a genius, and featuring beautiful photographs of my mustache and ferret skeleton by Brantley Gutierrez, another genius.
